915. JAMES ARCHIBALD Haggard
Civil War pension application notes he was born near Crab Orchard, Rockcastle, KY, and moved to Springfield, Sangamon, IL, where on 28 August 1862, he joined the 114 Reg. Volunteer Infantry of Illinois, Company I; was discharged 5 August 1865 as a Sergeant in Vicksburg, MS.
918. JOHN Haggard
Enrolled on 4 August 1862 at Lebanon, KY, as a private in Company B, 8th Regiment, Kentucky Volunteer Cavalry; discharged 17 September 1863. He was 27 years of agewhen he enlisted, had a dark complexion, black eyes, and was 6 ft. 1 in. in height. He spent most of his life in Rockcastle County, KY, except for four years -- 1867-1871 spent in Sangamon County, IL. Pension No. 605840. He received $20 per month.
921. GENTRY Haggard
Enrolled 26 September 1864 in Company F, 31st Indiana Volunteers, commanded by Captain Dodd; discharged 8 June 1865, Nashville, TN, pension No. 931,347. He received $12 per month.
922. ALLEN Haggard
Enrolled 24 August 1862, in Company H of the 7th Regiment of Kentucky Volunteers, commanded by Captain Collins; discharged at Edgefield, TN, 10 June 1865. Allen was 25 when he volunteered, was 5 ft. 10 in. high, fair complexion, and had blue eyes. He was killed by his drunken son-in-law William Powell. Polly Ann (Ferris) Haggard received a widow's pension of $8 per month.
